To live boldly we must believe in our power to “figure things out” and it was my five-year-old son who reminded me of this when I needed it the most. We go on dates and adventures to chat and explore the world. He often asks me questions and shares observations and his understanding of what is going on.
Last week, he was attempting to describe what I do and said:
“Mummy wrote a book … and she figures things out… yup she figures lots of things out, lots of things, and helps other people figure things out.”
Honestly, I will go to my grave remembering this description of my career. It was a timely and important reminder as I grapple with the unexpected changes and challenges that are inevitable in life’s journey.
My wish for you this November is that you always believe that everything is “figureoutable” and that we have the power to make it so and to help others do the same.
Read on for this month’s roundup.
Wishing you a November where you believe in and harness your own problem solving power.
One Insight
“Life is fluid. Change and uncertainty are both inevitable and scary. Building a bold and brilliant career and life involves embracing change and having faith in your capability to figure things out, regardless of the outcome.”

As Marie Forleo, one of Oprah’s named thought leaders for the next generation, states: Everything is “figureoutable”.
One Tool, Technique or Tactic To Try
Choose to be a solution seeker rather than just a problem identifier. During times of intense change, it’s easy to hyper-focus on what’s going wrong instead of focusing on what we can do about it. However, we have the power to put our energy and time into seeking solutions.
One Question
Ask yourself:
What if I started having faith in my capabilities to figure things out in life, regardless of external variables and obstacles? What could I accomplish?
(Ok … I caved! It is two questions this month 🙂
Let’s go live boldly!
