Island Roots. International Reach.

Island Roots: I was born and raised on the 21-square mile island in the middle of the Atlantic: Bermuda.

International Reach: I’ve lived in five countries and traveled to countless others (both for work and for pleasure!). My clients are based all over the world, including Canada, the USA, Australia, South Africa, England, Hong Kong, Jamaica, India, France, Dubai, Switzerland, and more!

Q&A

Best career and life advice?
At my wedding, my Dad said “Life is a team sport”. Throughout the years, I’ve realized more and more the importance of having a team in your career and life, to support you throughout the inevitable highs and lows. A similar sentiment has been expressed by the women I’ve worked with or interviewed over the years. Women who have crafted bold and brilliant careers share the belief that no woman is an island and that our connectivity and relationships are absolutely critical to our success. In other words: Don’t go at it alone!

Boldly

Offering a framework for identifying and making the kind of bold moves that will get your career off to its best start.

Your time is now

It’s about taking the right risks
for lasting success.

It’s about taking the right risks for lasting success.

This book offers a framework for identifying and intelligently making the kind of bold moves that will get your career off its best start.

Many women enter the workforce feeling like they can never make a mistake. As a result, they avoid risks—volunteering for a major presentation, asking for a raise or a promotion, etc. But betting on yourself is an essential part of getting ahead and risk-taking is a skill you need to master.

In this book, Christie Hunter Arscott equips readers with the ability to differentiate between reckless and intelligent risks using an actionable model built around three mindsets: A Curious Mindset, A Courageous Mindset, and An Agile Mindset. With a step-by-step method for taking risks and assessing rewards, Hunter Arscott’s approach gives women a

flexible and repeatable framework to guide them through this critical career skill.

Many women enter the workforce feeling like they can’t make any mistakes. As a result, they don’t take risks in the crucial early stages of their careers because any risk begins to feel like a bad bet, especially for BIPOC women who are disproportionately penalized.

The workplace is not a meritocracy—but not all hope is lost.

Begin Boldly empowers women to take chances on themselves and turn risk-taking into an enlightening and empowering antidote for self-doubt. Because, as Hunter Arscott reminds us, the biggest risk for early career women is not taking any risks at all.

Begin Boldly is for you,
if you are:

A woman in the first ten years of her professional journey who desires to make strategic and intentional moves to lay the foundation for an exciting and fulfilling career for years to come
A student or recent graduate who is transitioning into a first job or internship in the not-too-distant future and wants to enter the world of work equipped with the tools and techniques to build a brilliant career

A mentor, coach, or career advisor who wants to be equipped to best support women in their careers

An educator or career counselor who wants to make a meaningful impact on students by setting them up for success when they transition into the workforce
An organizational leader who is deeply committed to advancing women and wants to harness research-proven strategies to build a more equitable and inclusive organizations

An employee or leader who wants to start a women’s group at an organization (Begin Boldly’s 12 chapters can serve as the foundation for a 12-month women’s connection and education program)

Parents who wants to positively contribute their daughter’s career success

A woman at any career stage who desires to connect more deeply, take chances more intentionally, and live more boldly each and every day
