Q&A

Best career and life advice?
At my wedding, my Dad said “Life is a team sport”. Throughout the years, I’ve realized more and more the importance of having a team in your career and life, to support you throughout the inevitable highs and lows. A similar sentiment has been expressed by the women I’ve worked with or interviewed over the years. Women who have crafted bold and brilliant careers share the belief that no woman is an island and that our connectivity and relationships are absolutely critical to our success. In other words: Don’t go at it alone!
How do you live boldly?
Do I have to pick one? Backpacking around Thailand at 19 years old (those 14 hour bus rides were an adventure in themselves), White Water Rafting, Diving on the Great Barrier Reef, living in 5 countries and traveling to countless others, backpacking around the Greek islands, living on sailboat, camping on a sand island, integrating into living in Kingston Jamaica as a small island girl with a big island awakening, climbing a glacier, writing a book, leaving a secure consulting position and becoming an entrepreneur, marrying another Rhodes Scholar (the intensity of two of us is an adventure), being a parent (did the first 14 months apart from my husband) and raising my spirited curly top son, while running a global business (he went on about 35 flights with me during his first year of life!)! I like to think all of life is a wild adventure. “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all” - Helen Keller
